Design engineering

Concept to detailed design, by engineers who will have to maintain it.

Most maintenance problems are designed in. A pump with no isolation, a valve nobody can reach, a system with no way to test the standby: each one costs years of extra work after handover. We help operators design new plant and modifications with reliability and maintainability built in from the first sketch. Designs get built right first time and stay cheap to run.

How we
do it.

Concept and feasibility

A weak concept cannot be rescued by good detail. We test options against cost, operability and maintenance burden before any detailed design starts, so the decision is made on the whole-life picture.

Detailed design

Drawings that do not match the plant cause errors on site and in every future job. We produce P&IDs, CAD models and drawings, and structural and process design, to your standards and checked against site surveys.

Design for reliability

Designers rarely see how their plant fails. Our reliability engineers review designs with criticality and FMECA thinking, catching single points of failure, missing isolations and access problems while they are still cheap to fix.

Modifications and brownfield work

Changes to existing plant are where drawings and reality drift apart. We survey, update as-builts and design modifications that fit the plant as it is, not as it was drawn.

What you get.

  • Concept options report
  • P&IDs, CAD models and general arrangement drawings
  • Design reliability review findings
  • Updated as-built documentation
