Treatment works maintenance strategy
Annual savings from a planned maintenance strategy across 6 water treatment facilities, confirmed in the year-one audit.
Read the case studyA review of your existing maintenance. Keep what works, cut what does not.
Not every site needs to start again. Often the regime is broadly right but bloated: duplicated routines, intervals set too short, tasks for equipment that no longer exists. We help operators review their existing maintenance line by line against criticality and failure history. The output is a leaner regime that can actually be completed, without the cost and time of a full rebuild.
PM routines are usually spread across the CMMS, contractor scopes and paper checklists. We pull them into one register, group duplicates and match every task to its asset.
A task justified by "we have always done it" is a candidate for removal. We compare every routine against asset criticality, failure history and OEM requirements, and flag tasks that are duplicated, too frequent, mis-targeted or orphaned. Each one gets a keep, change or remove recommendation with a reason.
Intervals copied from OEM manuals often assume worst-case duty. Where failure data supports it, we extend intervals, and where it does not, we flag the asset for condition monitoring. Workload drops without adding risk.
Changes that nobody signs off do not happen. We take recommendations through review with your maintenance and operations leads, then update the CMMS.

Read the case studyRationalisation starts from your existing tasks and tests them. FMECA starts from failure modes and builds tasks. Rationalisation is faster and is often the right first step.
Every removal is checked against criticality and failure modes, and signed off by your team. Statutory and safety-critical tasks are never removed without explicit agreement.
